ABOUT LESLIE K MACMILLAN
I am a self taught artist, born and raised in Seminole County. I was introduced to my favored medium in the late 1990's and have been creating with it since. The concentration of my fine art is painted on silk textiles, in the French Serti technique, and then likely wax batik-ed.Thematically I frequently create narrative images, often with an elements of surrealism or fantasy. Marrying illustration with silk painting is a challenging and unusual use of the medium and the process is a multilayer one. I am always learning new ways to manipulate it, and the results are always fascinating.
Additionally, I am in the process of completing my BFA in Theater Technology at the University of Central Florida and focus on Scenic Art, Design, and Props.
